How Pre-Arrival Works

These wines are currently on the way to Thatcher’s Wine. We have sourced them from some of our clients' private cellars, our friends in Europe, direct from the domaine or through our other trusted networks. On each product you will note an estimated time of arrival. Understand that these are only estimates, and to ensure that your wine arrives safely it may be longer. Utilizing this method allows us to offer some amazing wines and gives you the opportunity to secure them earlier. Upon arrival at TWC you will receive a notification and we will ship the wines to you.

There are producers - some of them our very favorites - who eschew the thought oftypicityin lieu of something else: rather than creating a wine of agrape, let's make a wine of aplace.Such is the case with the wines of Vincent Pinard, an estate now run by the innovative younger generation in the persons of Florent and Clemente.

Vincent Pinard

Founded in 1996, the Pinard domaine is now overseen by Vincent's sons Florent and Clemente. Firmly in the biodynamic camp, the family's techniques are well-honed, dedicated to extracting the most site-specific wines from their famous sites that have been in the family for decades prior to the formal formation of the domaine.

The family calls the village of Bué home, an area known for its Kimmeridgian soils that resemble those of Chablis. From the soils comes a distinctive aroma and structure - briny, saline bits serve to elevate the flavors much as salt to a dish - often making them the most age-worthy versions of Sancerre.

In the cellars, the wines see time both in wooden vats and stainless, aged on their lees which also helps to soften the texture and provide even more natural health for the aging of the wines.

These are bottles of immense depth and class, a producer who for years we have stealthily been stockpiling!
