The 2020 Bienvenue-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has a crisp, focused bouquet, clean and precise and gaining in intensity with every swirl of the glass. This means business! The medium-bodied palate delivers very pure citrus fruit laced with orange zest, grilled hazelnut and pine nuts. Yes, this is quite Meursault-like in style, but undeniably there is impressive precision and energy coiled up on persistent finish. This is a superb Bienvenue, one of the best that I tried from this Grand Cru. Just one 456-liter barrel produced.
