Deep, shimmering violet. Heady aromas of fresh black and blue fruits, incense, violet and black pepper show excellent clarity and minerally lift. Sappy, sweet and energetic in style, showing real intensity and sharp delineation to the spice-laced blackberry, cherry liqueur, floral pastille and bitter chocolate flavors. Smooth and seamless in texture, showing impressive clarity and spicy thrust on the gently tannic finish, which echoes the cherry and floral notes. This wine, which is sourced from an old (mostly 1937), Serine-planted vineyard in Chavanay, always over-delivers for its appellation. Made with 60% whole clusters.
