Pale gold. Soil-inflected aromas of taffy apple, maple syrup, multi-grain bread, toffee and grilled nuts. Superripe, thick and full, with the wine's sweetness accentuated by a rather generous dosage Intriguing flavors of honey, brown bread and candied red fruits. There's huge extract here and terrific persistence of flavor. This rare single-vineyard bottling really showcases this vintage's power and richness, as well as its tendency toward heaviness. But this is amazingly rich and smooth, and has the guts and acid spine to develop in bottle for many years.
